    1. Find the folder for Norton. Open “My Computer.” Click on your hard drive (Usually C:/). Find the folder named NAVMSE. This is the Norton directory where the program was installed. Open NAVMSE. Click on the folder named “Backup.” This is where your backup files are stored.

    2. Check the folder for any duplicate data. Look at your Norton backup folder. There will be many backup files in this folder. If there are several of them, you should free up some room for your system.

    3. Delete the data manually. Search for the most recently dated backup file in the Backup folder. Keep this file, just in case you end up needing it. Highlight all of the other backup files. Click the right mouse button. Select Delete and confirm.

    4. Delete the files by using Norton. You can also choose to delete the extra backup files through the Norton application itself. Bring up the main Norton screen. Click on the tab labeled “Tasks.” Choose the option “Manage Backup Sets.” Select the tab labeled “What” and select the type of file you are looking for. When you are looking at the “Backup Item,” take note of the checked backup files. You will want to uncheck all but the most recent file. Click “Close.” Select the “Save Settings” option and click “Close.” This will delete all of the unchecked files, freeing up additional storage on your computer.
